Before you arrive
Is the camp suitable for my gymnast?
The camp is designed for competitive gymnasts aged 7 years and over. Gymnasts should already be training regularly and be physically prepared to complete two intensive training sessions each day.
Unfortunately, the camp is not suitable for gymnasts who are unable to cope with this level of training.
Parking
Free parking is available on site throughout the camp.
Accommodation
For anyone travelling from further afield, there are numerous hotels within a short drive of the gym. The closest hotel is Travelodge Telford Shawbirch.
What should my gymnast wear?
Gymnasts should arrive wearing suitable training clothing and bring everything they need for a full day of gymnastics.
What about food?
Lunch is provided for all gymnasts. Coaches should bring a packed lunch. The camp is nut free, so please do not bring any food containing nuts. A vending machine is available for drinks and snacks.
During the camp
Can parents stay and watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch from the viewing gallery throughout the training sessions.
Please note that parents will be asked to leave the viewing area during the lunch break, as this area is used by the gymnasts while they have lunch.
Do parents need to stay?
No. Parents are welcome to leave and return for collection at the end of the day.
Drop off
Please drop gymnasts off at reception each morning.
Collection
Gymnasts should be collected at 4:00pm each day from the grey gym doors at the bottom of the external staircase.
Please do not collect from reception as it becomes extremely busy.
Will gymnasts train on every apparatus?
Yes. Training groups and apparatus rotations will be organised throughout the camp to provide the best possible learning experience.
Coach education sessions
A coach education session will take place each lunchtime. These sessions are included for all attending coaches and provide an opportunity to continue learning away from the gym floor.
Can coaches ask questions?
Absolutely. We encourage coaches to ask questions throughout the camp and to make the most of the opportunity to observe and discuss coaching methods with our coaching team.
First aid & medical information
Qualified first aiders will be on site throughout the camp.
If your gymnast has any medical condition or requires medication during the day, please ensure this has been communicated to the camp organisers before arrival.
Any questions before the camp?
Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
